sanity

I have so much going on lately I think I might be making myself sick.  I have a serious sore throat and I am in a constant state of needing a nap, but not really letting myself do that after work.

I have some big stuff in the works both at work and around the house.  I finally decided what I want to do with the area behind my bed.  It took me 9 months, and a trip to Oklahoma City to figure it out.  And of course I couldn't just "buy" it I have to do some of the "work."

It involves sanding, painting and nails.  Wish me luck people.

I did take two pictures in Oklahoma City last weekend.  One of the Wormy Dog, and another of the funniest thing ever...I almost bought it and sent it to one of you girls but I couldn't pick just one.  Maybe I should have made some silly pass it along chain game. (Listen to me, I make projects for myself.  I am nuts)

If you can't read that first one, blow it up.  You will laugh I promise.

Well ya'll I think I really am going to try and do nothing tonight (I was so sad I have to miss my small group tonight because of whatever this throat thing is I have going on, ick!)

pity

I don't know who I pity more ya'll for actually reading what is likely to be my lengthiest post ever or me for writing it.

No wonder it took me next to forever to actually hack this out.  (Your Welcome Lesley!)

Anyways. Moving on.

About two weeks ago my Mom and I left for Mexico (Puerto Vallarta) to meet up with one of my closest childhood friends and her Mom.  We had no real plans, mostly just tan and take in a sight or two.

(Now for you sheer viewing pleasure I will enlighten you with a few pictures of...myself!)

Or maybe one of my Mom and I.

Day two we went into town, enjoyed Senor Frogs and did a little shopping.  Nothing to exciting.

Finally we decided we needed to sign up for some excursions.  (Which for those of you out there who I went to Mexico with last year...it was the same guy!)

Our first excursion was to be mild.  A lovely Pirate Ship dinner cruise.  I did this cruise the last time I was down in PV and loved it!

Clearly I get a little excited about semi-good looking Pirates, what am I 12?

(No my eyes are not shut)

We had a great time, dinner was good they had a Native Mexican show before the main event...THE PIRATE SHOW!

As we took our seats for the show I was getting really excited, I had told everyone about the guy that jumps over board and the fireworks, and the really cruddy acting.  I am a sucker for cheesy acting.

About two minutes into the actual pirate show the pirates are having some battle over someones Sister with swords.

Well at some point one of the swords broke and came flying through the air hitting none other than, ME!

It hit my chin and all I thought was dang that's going to leave a bruise not even thinking I might be bleeding.  As I turned to look at the rest of my group the lady behind us (who was from AR and we had made friends with and was super sweet) said she's bleeding!

Throwing me into a complete tissy I cupped my hands and caught insane amounts of blood in my hands.  They whisked us away into a first aid room on the second floor.  Where some wanna be Chippendale's dancer turned pirate cleaned up my wound.  (With strict instruction from D's Mom P, a nurse...who was also taking care of my seasick Mother.  When it rains it pours)

(I stole that off D's facebook hence it being small)

After they got it all cleaned up and we got back to land (I was thanking my lucky stars we were only 35 minutes out) they took me to a Mexican hospital.

Ladies and Gentlemen I have never been so glad to live in American and have our health system, no matter the cost!

There was some talk of stitches, which I narrowly avoided.  Steri strips did the job and they told me to get a tetanus shot when I got back to America (ya think!)

They also applied a pressure bandage (fancy name for hideous) that had to stay on for 24 hours.  I contemplated staying in the room the whole next day.  I mean look at this...

Instead I decided to channel my inner Michael Jackson.

The hat I made so much fun of my Mom for buying, and I wore it.  Oh the horror.

We went about our business in Mexico and I got to take the pressure bandage off and cover my battle wound with a band aid over the steri strips.  Much more tolerable and discreet.

We went zip lining which I almost ducked out on, I mean can ya blame me!  You take a sword to the face and not question if your doomed zipping across a jungle 400 feet up.

Obviously that wasn't 400 ft.  This was the last one to the bridge and the only picture my Mom got.  Don't worry she bought the video of the really high ones.  If you ever have nothing better to do for 45 minutes I am sure she would let you borrow it.

Band aid and all and you can barely see it.

Mom's and girls.

And just because I lived through zip lining I took my braveness to another level.  Para sailing.

When I called Belle.of.the.Blog to tell her all about the trip and how much I missed her being there like last time we had this conversation.

Me: Yeah, and just because I hadn't had enough excitement on the last day I went para sailing.

Belle: Megan didn't we decide against that the last time because it was sketchy and unsafe.

Me: Yes we did.  Although we thought the pirate ship was safe, and clearly wasn't

So that ya'll was our trip in a nutshell.  We really did have a wonderful time minus that one incident.  It makes me so grateful to have the best parents in the World.  I wouldn't trade them for anything.

teaser

Tomorrow I will tell the stories of our trip to Mexico.

I know I had really good intentions of doing this last week, but I decided to go to Oklahoma City this weekend, so last week was packed full to get ready.

Maybe I will tell ya'll tomorrow how much I LOVE Oklahoma City too.  Always have. Maybe its the cowboy hats and politeness I am a sucker for.  Ha!

Well I will see ya'll tomorrow!

still here

I promise I haven't forgot about ya'll, I have just been busy. I got home last night after being gone for nearly two weeks. I spent the better part of last week working from Omaha so I just stayed there...without my personal laptop!

So anyways if I can squeeze it in I will blog tonight. I am a busy girl! Ha!

lemons into lemonade

Anyone in sales knows that you're bound to have an "off" week at some point. Its only natural, and its horrible.

I had my "off" week last week and when I left on Friday I was close to a "I suck" meltdown. Needless to say I went on to fret and think all weekend. There is no way I could have another "off" week considering I am on vacation. No way, I need to essentially cram three weeks into one.

When Monday morning rolled around I had a plan and I wasn't going to give up. Because really I had nothing in my back pocket for this week and I was looking straight at another "off" week.

Needless to say after a lot of hard work it has paid off. I am seeing the benefits of hard work and some personal goals!

Let me tell you if you're not in sales it is not for the weak. There is no leaving work at work, or at least not with what I sell. Every place I go is a potential customer. Nearly every business uses a service such as the one I sell.

"Off" weeks are horrible and I am so glad I have reached my goal for the week (not that I am stopping) so I can relax for a whole 48 hours before we leave. Just maybe I can avoid a serious breakout if I relax.

long week ahead

I have a really long week ahead of me as I prepare for a week off (more on this in a minute...) it seems like I need to do two weeks worth of work in one on top of all the packing and cleaning and life organizing.  Talk about stress a sister out!
Next Saturday we are headed to Mexico.  Puerto Vallarta to be exact, and the same place I went last year.  I am really excited about this trip, after all I feel like I have been planning it forever.

That's the resort, not the greatest picture but ya'll will just have to deal until I come back with picture overload.

My goals this weekend were lofty, start some sort of tan so I don't fry in Mexico.  Well I succeeded.  I aim high I tell ya!

Is anyone else watching (or did you watch) the Brooks and Dunn tribute concert tonight.  Whoa!  I can remember certain things about some of these songs and they make me so happy or a little sad.  I am so glad I got to see this duo live!

If you follow me on twitter you might be sick of my trip down B&D memory lane.  I apologize, bear with me! Ha!

I hope ya'll have a good week I will try and catch a few minutes to update!

miss priss, and her pillows

Now, just because I have found some cream pillows to go with the mother of all paisley pillows does not mean I am done with this topic.  I still want chocolate brown pillows.  It could be a while I tend to be overly picky.

Look at that beauty! Ha! It's all about the little things in life...including pillows.

Now the best part of this is I can reverse the pillow for more of a "fall" look.

I may or may not have justified this purchase because it is reversible.  My reasoning has never been real great.

I have also filled my three tier platter with nick knacks.

I can just squeal with the excitement I have when I look at this thing.  I do love a good project and this has been one of those.

Now I must apologize for how uninteresting and mindless my posts tend to be.  I have never claimed to be a writer.  Ha!
