true love

This past Friday my Mom and I left to see my one true love...Wyoming.  (I apologize to my Wyoming friends I didn't get to see)

I fell in love with Wyoming at a young age.  I traveled to Wyoming a lot as a kid with my Dad when he would be out there doing his thing (buying and selling feeder cattle aka feeder cattle order buyer).

On my gut instinct I decided to go to the University of Wyoming without looking back, and it was by far the best decision I ever made.

Anyways when I made this decision my parents bought a home in Laramie for me to live at when I was going to school.  It worked out quite slick, and I really do love that place.

Well the day has come and my parents sold the house, and thus I must move all of my junk out of there and to somewhere I actually live at.

(I promise I am going somewhere with this)

We got there Friday evening at about 10 p.m and I got to go out with the guys.  Not my first choice of friends (ha! I love them to death but nothing beats my girlfriends!)

There is one photo of me from this weekend compaired to the 500 I would have had if the girls were there.  I didn't even take this photo.  I stole it from someone's facebook.  Illegal I know.

(Also I know my arm looks huge.)

Well where I am going with this...

I love Wyoming.  I love my friends that even if I only see them every couple months we pick up where we left off.

I just wish my girlfriends would have been there.

...Oh and I need a bigger house.  I have to much crap.

fieeesta!

It occurred to me last night (while I should have been sleeping) that I never posted about our little family fiesta.

It took place all of 48 hours after returning home from Mexico, and by the demand of my Cousin A it was "going to happen, NOW!"  If you know our family you know that A controls our doings.  This is much to my chagrin...she stole my youngest child spotlight eight and a half years ago.  I might still be bitter.

I made this sign for the Fiesta.  Sometimes I need to let my creative side run wild and I really have nowhere else to do that.

I had to take a picture of all of the dips involved in our fiesta.  Oh my word was that guacamole delicious.  I made it and I have never been so satisfied in my life.  (I learned a few secrets down in Mexico to make it that good!)

That would be my lovely Brother and A's little sister E.  E is in LOVE with my Brother, she thinks he is just the greatest thing since sliced bread!

That is A.  My little spotlight stealer.  Thief.

No, but really I love her.  She idolizes me.  It works!

E is the comedian of our family.

She has been known to say "shut the front door" at the dinner table.  Or giggle uncontrollably for no reason.  She is a mess.

E also happens to be as uncoordinated as the rest of us, and hasn't gotten the hang of getting on for a piggy back ride.  Were working on it.

Just for good measure my Aunt J from Virginia bought the girls a pinata and filled it with the best loot ever!

The look A is giving her Mom in this picture absolutely describes her.  She is in those lovely almost pre teen years, there is a lot of eye rolling.  I choose to laugh and pray for her Mother!

That's the loot.  Loofahs, ring pops, necklaces, bracelets.  Not the junky loot that I am used to.

Apparently stealing my thunder paid off.

the night the lights went out in lincoln

Before I begin I must tell you I am not incompetent nor lazy.

About two weeks ago the light in my closet burned out (I feel its necessary you know I have an 11ft ceiling in my closet). Anyways for the past two weeks I have made due using my bedroom light and just keeping the closet open. It worked, not perfectly but I sufficed.

Well Tuesday night my bedroom light burnt out. Done. I had NO light in my room or closet. So I did what any rational, independent 20 something would do. I called my Dad.

He made sure I didn't want him to come down right that minute to help, I agreed Wednesday evening would be soon enough. He only laughed and made one ore two jokes about how someday I am going to have to learn to change my own light bulbs. In which I told him I can change a light bulb I just don't stand and bar stools alone to do so. Safety first.

Not even thinking that my Dad wouldn't bring his own light bulbs from his stash I didn't buy any. Well he didn't bring any. Seriously the mad believes everything is better in bulk. Why would I go buy my own light bulbs. I mean I haven't bought light bulbs, well ever.

The moral of this story, my Dad is now answering his phone "Charlie's Electric."

Frankly I don't appreciate it.
