lemons into lemonade

Anyone in sales knows that you're bound to have an "off" week at some point. Its only natural, and its horrible.

I had my "off" week last week and when I left on Friday I was close to a "I suck" meltdown. Needless to say I went on to fret and think all weekend. There is no way I could have another "off" week considering I am on vacation. No way, I need to essentially cram three weeks into one.

When Monday morning rolled around I had a plan and I wasn't going to give up. Because really I had nothing in my back pocket for this week and I was looking straight at another "off" week.

Needless to say after a lot of hard work it has paid off. I am seeing the benefits of hard work and some personal goals!

Let me tell you if you're not in sales it is not for the weak. There is no leaving work at work, or at least not with what I sell. Every place I go is a potential customer. Nearly every business uses a service such as the one I sell.

"Off" weeks are horrible and I am so glad I have reached my goal for the week (not that I am stopping) so I can relax for a whole 48 hours before we leave. Just maybe I can avoid a serious breakout if I relax.

long week ahead

I have a really long week ahead of me as I prepare for a week off (more on this in a minute...) it seems like I need to do two weeks worth of work in one on top of all the packing and cleaning and life organizing.  Talk about stress a sister out!
Next Saturday we are headed to Mexico.  Puerto Vallarta to be exact, and the same place I went last year.  I am really excited about this trip, after all I feel like I have been planning it forever.

That's the resort, not the greatest picture but ya'll will just have to deal until I come back with picture overload.

My goals this weekend were lofty, start some sort of tan so I don't fry in Mexico.  Well I succeeded.  I aim high I tell ya!

Is anyone else watching (or did you watch) the Brooks and Dunn tribute concert tonight.  Whoa!  I can remember certain things about some of these songs and they make me so happy or a little sad.  I am so glad I got to see this duo live!

If you follow me on twitter you might be sick of my trip down B&D memory lane.  I apologize, bear with me! Ha!

I hope ya'll have a good week I will try and catch a few minutes to update!

miss priss, and her pillows

Now, just because I have found some cream pillows to go with the mother of all paisley pillows does not mean I am done with this topic.  I still want chocolate brown pillows.  It could be a while I tend to be overly picky.

Look at that beauty! Ha! It's all about the little things in life...including pillows.

Now the best part of this is I can reverse the pillow for more of a "fall" look.

I may or may not have justified this purchase because it is reversible.  My reasoning has never been real great.

I have also filled my three tier platter with nick knacks.

I can just squeal with the excitement I have when I look at this thing.  I do love a good project and this has been one of those.

Now I must apologize for how uninteresting and mindless my posts tend to be.  I have never claimed to be a writer.  Ha!

black thumb

Throughout my four years of college I took numerous agroecology classes, wrote a hand full of papers about weeds, and crop  management but I can't keep a house plant alive.  Not so sure I could keep any real crops alive either...best left unknown.

I am going to take a shot at a pot of flowers this summer though.  I bought this kit at Target (big shock), and it comes with everything I could possible need...including soil.

I figure if I begin to fail I will only be $12 in  poorer because of it, and really the pot is salvageable.

Wish me luck...it should be an interesting little task for me.  Just one of my summer projects that I am sure I will ruin.  Just wait until I tell you about my end table project...it involves sanding, paint, and tools.

Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was a place that I lived that I loved very very much...

Wyoming was that place.

This past weekend I got to take a trip down memory lane with a few of my favorite people!

We started our little trip at our favorite little hangout, The Ranger.  The home of quite a few memories the past five years.  Both bad and good.  Some so good it makes me cry, and then some so bad it makes me cry.

Then we ventured to a little place that didn't even exist "back in the day." A fancy shmancy little sushi place right in the middle of a Cowboy town.  It's odd, but if there is one thing I like about Laramie in general its that it is a little odd.

Following a bunch of fun and stuffing ourselves full we headed to The Library, now don't kid yourself we didn't go read books.  The Library in Laramie is a bar (although we did have one with real books, I think?).

We met up with some more of my favorite people and reminisced about when we used to be cool, and promised ourselves we would never become lame.

A few more pit stops later (gangster dancing and so on) and we were at "The" Cowboy.  This is where it all goes down in Laramie.  And none other than Chancey Williams and the Younger Brother Band were playing.  I spent a good portion of my freshman and sophomore years of college hanging out with these guys.  I spent more nights than I can count on their couch on Grand Ave.  It makes me so happy that I go to to see them.

I even did my fair share of dancing, which if you know me at all know is completely out of character.  It was a really good weekend.

These are "my people" and I am so grateful that I got the best four years of my life with them.  Looking back it was really sad to leave it all behind, but that doesn't mean that we can't still have these really fun reunion weekends.  I appreciate my time with them so much more now (not that I didn't then).

And knowing that we can still be fun...

Makes these trips something to really look forward too.  I can't wait for our next big weekend together, whenever and wherever it may be.

Until then I will be getting a visit from my best friend really soon, and that couldn't make me happier!

it's almost over

The long awaited waited wait of a post with pictures should be up tonight some time. Let's just say I shed a few tears and will have a new computer by the end of today.

So hold your horses ya'll they are coming!

finding my place

I am beginning to feel like I can tolerate this living in Lincoln business yeah I know it took 8 months. I am slow (hello Biology 1010, ya'll should have known I was slow).

I am so excited it is May 1st, I have a really busy and exciting month of May! Starting with my cousins birthday tonight which will mean a fun night of going out. And next weekend...

The BIG weekend we all return to Wyoming for a glorious reunion I am sure we will never forget. I know it is graduation weekend and were going to celebrate all of our friends success, but that small piece of me is more excited to relive my college days.

Then there are a couple busy weekends...and then it is time for MEXICO! I have been looking forward to this trip since December. in case your wondering my friend (D) and her Mom will be joining my Mom and I on this trip.

I have a feeling this month will fly by!

I hope ya'll are enjoying May so far...all 10 hours of it! Ha!

**for the record I wrote this post while in the drive thru lane at Starbucks. 20 minutes later I have coffee ya'll.
