The cookies have left the building

... although not really.

PROGcookieprogram_clip_image002_0001.jpg

Just the peanut butter patties (you know the girl scout cookies.) The most delicious of all girl scout cookies, even more so when they are frozen.

I have no will power when it comes to anything chocolate and peanut butter together, or red velvet cake in any form.  Those are my weaknesses.

Anyways I still have other kinds of girl scout cookies, but for some reason I could care less about them.  On the other hand when I savored my last peanut butter pattie (frozen of course) at lunch today I almost had a melt down.

The thought of waiting a whole year to devour another box of them seems like an eternity.

My hips and thighs are ever thankful that I put that box of cookies out of its misery and we can move on to healthier things...like fruit and veggies.  Ha!

Please if any of you still have peanut butter patties enjoy one, or ten for me!

... and for the record the one box I had did last me two and a half weeks.  I shocked myself that they hung on that long.

People I have a friend!

Fantastic news I have a friend, in the town I live! Praise the Lord!

We were at a wedding this weekend and my friend *N brought a girl with him, and even though he doesn't live in my town, she does! Praise the Lord!

We made plans to meet up Sunday in our town, but we both might have drank one to many drinks Saturday night, so we postponed until later in the week, fine by me!

I am just so thrilled to know someone my age in this town whom I don't work with (although no one I work with is my age).

So all of my little prayers are paying off!

In other news I made it through another quarterly sales meeting yesterday talk about stress a girl out! Whoa! I treated myself (even though my Mom bought) to ice cream last night.  It was my reward for survival!

By next quarter the new will have worn off and they won't be so nice anymore.

My regional vice president was there, and she told me she liked my necklace.  My life is complete, if nothing else she likes my style!

And that my friends is all I have.  I feel like I should be writing something with some sort of knowledge, but after using my brain all day all I want to when I blog is write.  If I could I wouldn't use punctuation or complete sentences, but I would feel a bit trashy if I did that.

Day in the life of a single, young professional

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

Today is all about your typical day over at Kelly's Korner Show us Your Life...

First and foremost, the term young professional is one I thought you had to be 25 to fall into.  I guess I was wrong, at 22 I fit the bill.  Scary.

5:45 - The alarm clock goes off, I hit snooze.

6:20 - I finally drag my booty out of bed and get in the shower.

6:20 - 7:30 - I get ready, you know the typical dry the hair, straighten it, put make up on, catch the headlines on the t.v, make my bed, clean up.

7:30 - Leave for work, and get there at about 8.

8:00 - Get into the office tell everyone hello, plug in my laptop and start it up.

8:15 - 8:45 - Check e-mails, finish up anything I left hanging on e-mails or such.

9:00 - 11:00 - Time to make dials, the gritty part of being in sales.

11:00 - 1:30 - Go out into the field, knock on doors, try to make a one time close sale (my favorite)

1:30 - 2:00 - Get back into the office, check the e-mail and catch up with our route guys and try to bribe them with candy or food into some sales leads (the most difficult part of my job)

2:00 - 4:00 - Make some more dials, do paper work, keep up on reports, basically any other task included in my job description.

Really anytime after 4 - Leave the office, and try and stop at a business or two and do some prospecting.

5:00 - 6:00 - Time to go to the gym

6:00 - 7:00 - Make some sort of food to sustain myself

7:00 - 9:00ish - I do all of those things you can't do during the work day, blog, facebook, go to Target, catch up on shows, clean.  Basically everything.

9:00 - I like to go lay in bed, and watch a show.  Normally this leads to me falling asleep at about 9:45. (I never said my life was exciting.)

It is safe to say I might be a comedian

More of my randomness at its finest -

There are certain things I miss about living at home, one of them would have to be the quality of food it is a lot better at home.  After all my Dad didn't become a top notch feeder cattle order buyer (say that 10 times fast) by eating chicken.

I could really use a good steak every once and a while (I would like you to know I almost wrote, I could use a good piece of meat once and a while...which I guess I did write).  Anyways, I basically live a meat free lifestyle.  I am not the best with a grill, and I fear for my neighbors homes if I did cook on the grill.

I do take as many leftovers as possible to sustain myself for a week when I go home on the weekends, but come Thursday I am out of food.  I resort to any combination of lunch meat, noodles, cheese, butter and wine.

Okay so enough about my poor eating habits.

Yesterday was the big seat belt audit at my office/plant, which I was not informed about...until it was to late.

(Stick with me as I preface this story)

The plant (we like to call them market centers) that I work out of employs around 80 people on our first shift and so seeing as how we have that many people and big machines we have safety training every week.  About six weeks ago it was about seat belts and the companies policy about seat belts.  I signed off that I had read it, no big deal I am the seat belt nazi (I don't think thats politically correct) anyways I went about my way.

Yesterday I was out prospecting (read: fancy word for knocking on doors) and was two blocks from the market center the last time I got in the car to head back.  I decided no big deal it was all residential roads back, a seat belt seemed not necessary.

I pull through the gate and our giant (literally like 7 foot) maintenance guy was standing there with the plant managers, "this is the official seat belt audit, you fail."

Me the seat belt nazi who warns my friend K (also an employee of the company) to buckle his seat belt almost daily as I talk to him on the phone and hear it dinging, failed the seat belt audit.

And to add insult to injury, I was the ONLY one who failed.

Disclaimer: Maybe this post really wasn't that funny, I live by myself I have to laugh at myself.  Also I may or may not have had a couple of these...

Classier than boxed wine right?

What I learned when I joined the adult world

There are a lot of things I miss about Wyoming, and college in general.  Not that I would trade anything for my job, and the real freedom of the real world though.

I am so glad I ended up where I am although I may not always think it is the best I know God has a motive, and would never give me more than I can handle.

That being said I feel as if I owe ya'll an update in my social life, my friend Doug (he shares the same love of Texas Country) convinced me to go to the Stoney LaRue concert last Thursday with him even though I made every possible excuse and tried every cop out move.  He was relentless.  I went, and had a good time.  It was what I needed even though I did go home early (in my defense all of the big shots were in town early the next morning at work.)  I also started Zumba last week (on the advice of a couple friends, both real life and blog).  So there is the update, now on to what I am really here for...

When I entered the real world last September I wasn't really sure of what to expect.  There are a few things I wasn't ready for, but they aren't really to life or death.  (I am really just digging deep for substance in this blog)

1) I used to be a pretty avid reader, I enjoy reading I really do.  I was warned by a good friend of ours a few weeks before I started work to get all my reading in, and finish the book I was reading then.  I got caught up in work and being fairly busy through the holidays, and that book sits three quarters finished at my parents house.  I have begun buying books again, and the stack is building.  I am hoping that with more daylight I will find myself with more energy.

2)  Napping does not exist in the real world.  I was a really good napper in college.  Probably the only thing I was good at besides partying.  To me there is nothing better than a nap on the couch in the middle of the afternoon with Fox News on the t.v.  (For the record I am not making a slam against Fox News, I love Fox News...and would gladly marry Shepard Smith)  But now the only time I get to nap is on the weekends, and my weekends are so busy or I feel guilty wasting them so I won't nap.

3) Another thing I seem to have lost when I joined the real world was decent skin.  Not saying that I had flawless skin in college, but I lived a pretty stress free life.  Now I seem to be breaking out like a teenager worried about the prom.  It is awful.  I would like my once a month breakouts back, now I live an unpredictable life.  Obviously my skin hasn't gotten the memo that I am a control freak, and this arrangement isn't working.

And those are the non life or death things I gave up last fall.  I wouldn't trade them for the world.  I really am trying to learn to accept my life as it is, and enjoy it.  Let's see how long I can keep this semi positive attitude.

Small pity party ahead

I have non in real life friends that read my blog, but I am still having problems finding ways to make real life friends in this town.

I would in no ways consider myself an introvert, probably the farthest from it.  Given no other option I might talk to a brick wall.  Really.

I have decided against going to the bar alone, just sounds like a disaster.  Drowning my problems away with alcohol is a really bad idea.

I will figure this out, and ya'll are going to here a lot about it.

If any of you have any ideas on ways to get involved and make friends I am open to suggestions.  Unless a dating site is involved.

I am not ashamed to admit I have been down that road when I first moved here.  Needless to say it wasn't pretty...not in a bad way.  I just happen to see someone I know (cough cough) my chiropractor (cough cough) on it, day 1.  I pretty much quit then.  I had seen too much.

And that my friends is my dating site disaster.  Minus a few details.

Sorry for the pity party, it has been one of those days.

I can't help it...

...this is my grown up facebook.  I am sorry.

I feel like I owe ya'll an apology, I have let my blog become a day by day play by play with no real rhyme or reason to anything.  Frankly until my life becomes more exciting you can plan on this being pretty lame.

Today I watched the Temple Grandin movie, it wasn't what I was hoping for but it wasn't bad.  It kept my attention while I did laundry.

She really is a remarkable person, but I tend to be a skeptic.  I enjoy her books, but I am still a skeptic.

After that I went for a little field trip, to Lowes and Home Depot.  I made a pit stop to grab a latte first and then I went to do a little browsing.  I needed some cleaning supplies since I was out of a couple things and my 409 was sputtering and on its last leg.  Most importantly though I am looking for a patio set for my parents to get me this spring (they promised).

Needless to say it is still February so the patio furniture is minimal, and wandering around looking at home furnishings isn't healthy. I dream...of farm house sinks, and cabinetry.

Anyways I ended up with...

(Not the up & up wipes, but I wanted to tell ya'll they are like paper gold.  I love them)

Ladies those dual action Lysol wipes are amazing, I use one daily after all the hair spray and make up is put away.  They have a "scrubby" side and they get all the gunk off the countertops.  Buy them, you will love them.

And in case you believe I am free of all white trash tendencies, you have been fooled.  Remember when my mixer started to smoke and Valentines Day was ruined (which by the way I completely forgot I own a Kitchen Aid mixer, and could do without a hand mixer) anyways I threw the mixer out on my patio that night...

And I haven't moved it.  White trash I know I am guilty, in my defense you can't see it from the road.  And I will move it Tuesday, trash day.
